Pura Gunung Kawi Sebatu means "Gunung" and "Kawi = made" and Sebatu which refers to the name of the village where the temple is built. Sebatu itself means "stone". This temple is categorized "Dhang heaven" where all the Hindus in Bali should pray here because temples in Bali has different categories such as temples that can only be used by one caste, just to particular villages and so on. so people worship at the temple is not only coming from the village Sebatu alone but of all Hindus in Bali. in addition to pray, this temple also contained some holy water fount where people use it to "melukat" or a bath of purification because it is believed if the "melukat" in these showers will be blessed by the gods.
